ZAMBOANGA CITY: United States
Ambassador Philip Goldberg is set to drop by a visit here next week for the graduation
ceremony of 181 out-of-school-youth (OSY) on livelihood skills training, a
report forwarded to Misamis News Digest said.
The United States
Agency for International Development (USAid) Mindanao Youth for Development
(MYDev) project is currently conducting livelihood skill training to OSYs in
the city.
The five-year USAid
project is projecting to fit into place some 19,000 OSYs in workforce and
community development activities by developing their basic education
competencies, livelihood capabilities, and life and leadership skills for civic
engagement, information from the USAid said.
In a report obtained, the
US Embassy has given word that Goldberg will attend the signing of the Cities
Development Initiative between the American government and the local government.
The Cities Development
Initiative, which is part of the US-Philippines Partnership for Growth, is said
to give a free rein to this city’s development potentials through partnership
in areas of health, education, environment, and economic and investment outlay.
