Pagadianons overjoyed over Pacman’s victory

PAGADIAN CITY: For many impressed city residents, Manny Pacquiao is greatest fighter of all time.

Police provincial director Sr/ Supt. Sofronio Ecaldre can’t hold his emotion, saying the Filipino boxing icon uplift the spirits and boost police morale.

Ecaldre said he joined other policemen last Sunday watch the Pacman-Algerie fight live on screen at the conference room.

Pacquiao triumphed against the American boxer for the WBO welterweight crown.

Not only were the policemen busy watching the television last Nov. 23 but also the tricycle drivers who momentarily stopped conveying passengers to watch Manny’s fight.

One driver, Gabriel Ornales, said he stopped by 10:00 o’clock in the morning to catch the preliminary bouts until the main event.

For him, it doesn’t matter if he shakes off income for the day as long as he has the satisfaction of seeing Pacquiao fight onscreen again.

Lando Dragon, a barber at Apple Star Baber Shop here, likewise said he freed himself from working further after lunch just to take a glimpse of the Pacquaio-Algieri match, adding his day will not be complete without making it out with the television.
