CAGAYAN
DE ORO CITY: DSWD-Northern Mindanao is leading a Christmas Bazaar featuring various
products from participants of the Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP) dubbed "PaskuJuan."
PaskoJuan
will be held on Nov. 30, from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Gaston Park, this city.
Handicrafts,
bags, accessories, shoes, clothing, furniture, bottled and packed foods and
drinks, snacks will be displayed.
Services
will also be available in the bazaar like cosmetology, manicure and pedicure,
massage, and others.
The
SLP aims to develop the standard of living of poor households.
Participants
undergo workshops and skills training in order to get the most suitable
market-driven and resource-based livelihoods to engage in.
An
information management system generates a list of the underprivileged and
indigents in the area who will then be given the chance to manage sustainable
micro-enterprises and linking them to locally available jobs.
SLP is supported by DTI,
TESDA and DOLE.
