Military on the lookout for BIFF in CDO

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY: The military is on the lookout for Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters (biff) and is keeping a close watch on entry points in the mountainous borders of the city, a new DxRU-Radio Ultra report said.

In an interview with DxRU, 4th ID spokesman 1st Lt. Patrick Martinez said they are also monitoring the urban center where the BIFF could strike next.

Martinez said the military got information, as part of their daily briefing, that there were BIFF “sightings” in the area of Northern Mindanao.

The BIFF is a pseudonym created for the splinter group of the Muslim separatist MILF.

Also based in Mindanao, the BIFF is said to use child soldiers, some as young as 10 years old, carrying AK47s and armalite rifles.

Verified military information said JI-trained bomber Abdul Basit Usman has been hiding inside the camps of the BIFF in Maguindanao and has been working out BIFF gunmen on IED training.

The military said Usman reportedly formed a new group called Bangsamoro Justice Movement.
