ZCWD’s water infra projects benefit many


ZAMBOANGA CITY: The Zamboanga City Water District (ZCWD) continues to provide sustainable water supply to the populace, a news release said.

ZCWD added they will expand and rehabilitate their dilapidated pipelines and develop new water sources as well as lay additional pipes to improve more its services.

ZCWD OIC-Creas Montee Domingo said 12 spring boxes in Tolosa were already completed in February this year, to ensure protection of these water sources from possible intrusion of foreign elements.

Beneficiaries of the project are the villages of Tolosa, Lanzones, Guisao and Cabaluay.

Because of the increasing demand for potable water, ZCWD will augment its water supply in the area by developing next year another source in Cahumban, including that of the soon to finish job in Cacao and Lapakan.

Domingo added replacement of the PVC bridge crossing at Putik and the PVC pipe along the creek in Sta. Maria Park were also accomplished.

ZCWD disclose that total cost of these two projects amounted to almost P400,000 and by third quarter, made improvement projects with a combined cost of close to P20 million.

These projects are the Pasobolong–Culianan water system, Mampang-Arena Blanco pipeline construction and improvement, ACP pipeline at Johnston Subdivision in Baliwasan, and the Dumalon-Zambales-Baluno-Capisan-Malagutay-San Roque-Calarian-Cawit-Sinunuc-Maasin water system project.

The Flamingo area in Upper Calarian, San Roque, Cawit, Recodo and Maasin are already benefitting from the projects.

ZCWD said it will also augment water supply in Tulugnatung, Ayala, and Dulian including Carmen Valley in Pasonanca.
