NPA said one of abducted cops has something to do with drugs

BUTUAN CITY: New People’s Army (npa) rebels suspected in the abduction of three Surigao del Norte policemen on Saturday claimed they are also looking into one of the abducted cops for his supposed involvement in illegal drugs activities.

In a statement, the NPA said they are likewise concerned with the unbridled proliferation of illegal drugs, particularly shabu, in Caraga Region.

The NPA however did not name who the police officer they are talking about.

It can be recalled that early this month, three policemen were abducted at broad daylight by armed men suspected to be NPA members.

The policemen were identified as PO1 Jonrey M. Amper, PO3 Democrito O. Polvorosa and PO1 Marichel Unclara Contemplo.

Amper was abducted in Bunyasan, Malimono, while Polvorosa and Contemplo were reported abducted while on their way to Pungtod, Alegria.
