Iligan govt, PDEA burn dangerous drugs

ILIGAN CITY: Members of the Iligan City Anti-Drugs Abuse Council (ICADAC) and PDEA-10 recently led the burning of dangerous drugs at the Hall of Justice ground, in Tubod, here.

PDEA said they destroyed some 7.05 grams of shabu worth nearly P50,000 along with its paraphernalia.

The burning was in compliance with RA 9165, said PDEA regional director Emerson L. Margate.

Margate added 148 cases and apprehensions were accepted by the RTC, with a total weight of 3,368.48 grams tallying an estimated P38,338,243.50.

Meanwhile, the Iligan City Drug Treatment and Rehabilitation Center located in Brgy Abuno here has started its soft opening last Nov. 10 as it was announced full operation will start this week.

Mayor Celso G. Regencia asked for the support of the community, especially the parents to keep track of their children and see to it who they’re going with to help keep their children and Iligan a drug-free city.

ICADAC said they will conduct a whole-year round drugs symposium in different schools at the secondary level and other plant industries as well as in the barangays in the coming months.
