ZAMBOANGA CITY: A seven-year-old girl from this city is almost kidnapped last Saturday, but escaped from her abductors, police said.

The police added that they are still handling their investigation to uncover the identities of six teenagers who tried and failed in kidnapping the minor.

Zamboanga City Police Office (ZCPO) spokesman Supt. Ariel Huesca, said, quoting the girl’s statements that the kidnappers seized the girl around 8:00 in the evening, Saturday,  when she went on an errand at Sitio Luyahan, Pasonanca.

Huesca said the suspects then placed the helpless girl inside a sack and threatened to kill her if she will try to scream and call for help.

The girl managed to escape when the suspects brought her to a bushy area at of the same place.

She then went straight to her parents and narrated her ordeal, after which the parents brought her to the Police Station 7 headquarters and reported the incident.

Last January, a kidnap suspect pointed as responsible for several kidnapping incidents in this city, was arrested by combined police and military forces in Talabaan.
