PAGADIAN CITY: For carrying his unlicensed firearm in
these parts, a man connected with the Iligan City Information Office now faces
a case for unlawful carrying.
The Mahayag Municipal Police Station said they filed
Monday afternoon an inquest case of violation of RA 10591 against as Eleno G. Bacus
Jr., also known as Waldo.
RA 10591 is the Comprehensive Firearms and
Ammunition Regulation Act.
PNP provincial director S/Supt. Sofronio Ecaldre said
Bacus’ record states that he is married and residing at Suarez, Iligan City.
Ecaldre added Bacus was arrested after Mahayag police
conducted a body inspection on the suspect upon noticing something is bulging
from his waist.
Bacus was seen roaming in the vicinity of Brgy. San
Isidro Sunday afternoon.
Police said Bacus failed to present any papers or permit
to carry his firearm when confronted but only presented a mission order signed
and issued by a certain Major Marvin W. Beltran.
Beltran, in the mission order, is said to be the commanding
officer of the 12th Intelligence and Security Unit, ISAG, Philippine Army,
based in Cotabato City.
Police then confiscated Bacus’ Colt caliber 45
pistol and two magazines of Cal 45 loaded with twelve live ammunitions.
He is now temporarily detained at Mahayag MPS
following the filing of the case.
