Dimaporo recently led the ground breaking rites of the Provincial Road
Management Facility (PRMF) project.
The
PRMF infrastructure is project funded by the Australian Government and identified
as the Magpatao-San Isidro-Upper Baroy-Sta Cruz-Salong Road, this province.
The
road is 16.7 kilometers long and comprises two road sections connecting four
municipalities.
The
road rehabilitation project is a shared investment with the Australian government
which gave P19.3-million while Lanao del Norte government allotted P2.3-million
cash counterpart.
The
PRMF has provided capacity development programs for the Lanao del Norte since
it became a recipient-province in 2012.
The
total assistance given by PRMF to the province is now valued at P18.4-million poured
into significant governance reforms particularly in local roads management,
procurement, internal audit, human resource management, and financial
management.
Local
roads are key components of the road networks in the Philippines, a PRMF info
said, and it supports the movement of people and goods within, to and from
communities, production areas and markets.
These
roads are major LGU assets, and provide immediate, sustained economic, and
social benefits if properly maintained, the PRMF info added.
Lanao
del Norte is one of three new PRMF partner provinces in this a governance
reform program supported by the Australian government in partnership with the Philippine
government through the DILG.
