Bayog holds BSP training to execs, workers

BAYOG, ZAMBOSUR: The boy scouts from Bayog will become messengers of peace from Mindanao to the whole country, if they adhere to the principles of the BSP,” Mayor Leonardo L. Babasa Jr. said.

Recently, Bayog, in coordination with the BSP provincial and city councils, conducted a 3-day basic training course for adult leaders.

The training ran from Dec. 5 to 7 at the municipal gymnasium with 170 officials and employees as participants.

The training and course summary included lectures, spiritual activity, flag-raising, bandaging procedures, basic knots, flag code, camp cookery and layout and proper disposal of flag.

BSP council executive Eriberto Sumalinog said he was impressed since it was only Bayog, of all towns in Zambosur, which conceptualized a BSP training course for local officials and employees.

He said further that with the training, BSP membership will sustain its growth all over the country.

Come January, next year, village officials of all 28 barangays of Bayog will also undergo the same training, Sumalinog said.

The local government then tackled their next training in disaster and risk management enhancement for Barangay Emergency Response Team (BERT) last Dec. 8-10.

The organic and environment summit is scheduled last on Dec. 18 and 19. (ppb)
