Zambo gets new P9-M road projects

ZAMBOANGA CITY: About P9.23-million worth of projects out of the P254-million infrastructure program has been completed in the city, the DPWH said last week.

The Department of Public Works and Highways regional office has completed the said projects in the past three quarters, District engineer Cholie Roble said.

Roble named the projects as the Zamboanga-Labuan-Limpapa road asphalt overlay costing P3.24 million; upgrading of damaged paved national road in Brgy Malagutay (Phase 1), P1.53 million, and Phase 2, P4.45 million.

Set to finish by December are the widening of the Zamboanga City-Labuan-Limpapa national highway, asphalt overlay of other sections of the Zamboanga-Labuan road, a bridge construction in Brgy Maasin, and the city port, the DPWH said.

DPWH Sec. Rogelio Singson earlier called on his field officials to see to it that all projects implemented are disaster resilient, hard wearing and durable.
