Four new HIV-AIDS cases documented in Pagadian



PAGADIAN CITY: Four new cases of HIV-AIDS have been discovered here by the city health office, says a new report of the CHO.

City health officer Dr. Noel Ceniza said the four new cases implicated males having sex with another man, quoting the statement of the Pagadian Gay Society and Humanitarian Gays Association (PAGAYSHEA).

Ceniza added it was the city gay group has convinced the victims to undergo medical examination.

The PAGAYSHEA is said to be actively involved in healthy lifestyle advocacy while providing support to its members with health problems.

Pagadian City HIV-Sexually Transmitted Infections (HIV-STI) coordinator Carleen Jerusalen likewise disclosed that the total number of people positive for HIV is the city now tallied 14.

She added that two of the 14 patients were confirmed to have already died while three of the remaining 12 patients can still be located in the city.

All this victims were among the four recently found positive with HIV-AIDS, Jerusalen said.
