TANGUB CITY—To liven up the month-long Christmas Symbols Festival, the city government initiated a Christmas carol competition to be participated in by its employees from the city government, both local and national.
Dubbed as Pamaskong Handog, the competition was held in the evening of Dec. 15 at the Sinanduloy Cultural Center.
All employees from the local and national offices assembled themselves into 20 participants per grouping.
Criterias of the competition included voice quality (35%), tonal blending and harmony (25%), choreography (25%) and costume (15%).
The talented daughter of Gov. Loreto Ocampos, April Lourdes Ocampos-Aoanan, was one of the judges.
Declared top five winners and top five best in costume among 17 entries were: Gov. Alfonso D. Tan College (GADTC), first place; Unified High Schools, second place; City Mayor’s Office (CMO) & City Councils’ Office (CCO), third place; Tangub City National High School (TCNHS), fourth place; and Northwestern Mindanao State College of Science and Technology (NMSC), fifth place.
In his message, Regional Tourism Council chair Philip Tan praised the talents shown by the employees and thanked them for supporting the local government’s projects and programs.
Mayor Jennifer Tan, in her Christmas message, said that she was overjoyed by the performance of her employees and pass on good wishes to them for the applauded presentation.
The same grouping of participants also held a pop dance competition last Sunday, Dec 21.
