Pagadian City—The saying “Christmas waves a magic wand over this world, and behold, everything is softer and more beautiful” holds true for Pagadianons and should never take away their hope to enjoy a plentiful and merry celebration.

This seems to be the gist of Mayor Samuel Co as he said he is confident the global crisis being experienced abroad and predicted to hit the country next year will not dampen the hope of residents but instead give them a sort of financial prudence.

Co said he is conveying “his warmest greetings to the people of Pagadian as Christmas remains it self a continual time for the expression of love, reverberation of hope and renewal of commitment.”

“As Pagadian dream of becoming the regional center for the Western Mindanao region, it is now realizing the efforts of both the local government and the people who in way or another tried to help one another to achieve such dream,” he noted.

The mayor said strengthening the city’s trade and industry will be his next outline for 2009 after implementing his ambitious and major infrastructure projects like the Pagadian City Fishport and the Agora Perimeter Building.

Friday, last week, Dec. 12, Gaisano Capital opened its three floor mall along Rizal Avenue, another addition to the city becoming a thriving business hub in Zamboanga Peninsula.

“As we celebrate Christmastime and as we move on to the New Year, we are also given the opportunity to acknowledge the progress for the past years and the contributions of those who have done so much to make Pagadian City what it is today,” Co recalls.
