PAGADIAN CITY—Three unidentified hold-uppers carted away almost P3-million in cash from a town treasurer, Friday, last week, while about to have lunch in an undisclosed establishment in this city’s downtown area.

OIC Chief of Police Parsons Asadil said he has dispatched a team of investigators to look into all angles surrounding the noontime heist, which victimized Guipos treasurer Vivian Alicos.

Alipos, who was with her assistant and a driver when the incident happened, said the smoney was withdrawn by them that morning and was intended for the Christmas bonus of town employees.

All three later narrated to the police that the robbers poke a .45 caliber to Alicos while trying to take possession of the bag containing the money.

Alicos, who was blooded when she spoke with television reporters, said she tried to fight it out with the muggers but was ganged-up.

Asadil said he believes the unidentified culprits who held up Alicos and company may have been former military and police men.

Mayor Francisco Oraiz Jr., who was in the city attending a forum when the incident happened, refused to comment on the robbery.
