TANGUB CITY—Twenty-seven Christmas arches and 28 parols light city streets for the first judging of both categories B and C, respectively.
In Category B, 12 arches from interior villages and 15 from highway barangays, all with motifs of peace, love and unity, vie for the judges’ preferences.
Barangay Mantic, the defending champion, still got first place. Their arch is made with shells where a big dove is perched.
In the highway barangay, Sta. Maria came first place. Theirs depicted the Christian-Muslim unity using native materials.
Punong barangay Alberto Penas of Sta. Maria they chose the said theme to underscore the friendship of the two factions.
Meanwhile, the 28 parol entrants are now displayed at St. Michaels compound, with that of Brgy. Villaba retaining the winning look.
Monsignor Emmie Bienes recognized the Tangubanons and their skills and patience in the said competition.
Results of the first judging of Category B had Mantic, Migcanaway, Barangay 5, Labuyo and Maloro while its Sta. Maria, Aquino, Panalsalan, Lorenzo Tan and Silanga for the highway barangay contest.
For Category C, we have Villaba, Kauswagan, San Vicente, Guinalaban and Lumban.
