PBA WELCOMES THE NATL. TUNA CONGRESS

Gensan City Mayor Pedro B. Acharon, Jr. who has just arrived from a 2-week trip to Moncton City, New Brunswick, Canada welcomes the 500 delegates to the 9th National Tuna Congress at the Opening Ceremonies on Saturday, August 31, 2007 at the new KCC Mall Convention and Trade Center. An annual project of the Socsksargen Federation of Fishing & Allied Industries, Inc. (SFFAII) in coordination with the local government of Gensan, the Office of the Representative of the First Congressional District, and national agencies Dept. of Trade & Industry and Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources, the Tuna Congress adopted for this year the following theme: "Sustainable Tuna Industry: Defining Boundaries, Facing New Realities".
