Mayor Tan distributes high-value fruit seedlings to cluster farmers

In line with Tangub City's high-value commercial crop dispersal program, Mayor Jennifer W. Tan, along with the city officials, distributed a total of 3,000 seedlings of rambutan, durian, and lanzones to 36 upland barangays, which are under the BAYANIHAN Farm Cluster last July 30-August 3, 2007. Cluster 1-2 were given 1,000 rambutan seedlings (Maharlika variety); Cluster 3 received 500 durian seedlings (Puyat variety); and Cluster 4 received 500 lanzones seedlings (Longkong variety). These seedlings were distributed to the respective clusters following the soil suitability test conducted earlier. An additional 1,500 seedlings are still to be dispersed to the farmers of the clusters and 500 to the employees of the city government. Juliet M. Beniga & Lazaro C.
