Zambo CDRRMC placed on alert


ZAMBOANGA CITY: Mayor Beng Climaco has placed the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO) on alert status to take action once Typhoon Ruby (Hagupit) enters  the country.

Assistant City Administrator Elmeir Apolinario said CDRRMO personnel are always ready to act although Zamboanga is outside typhoon Ruby’s path.

The CDRRMO has also advised residents along the riverbanks and coastal areas to take the compulsory precautions.

Apolinario said village officials and the PNP will be of assistance and monitor the situation in their respective areas.

The CDRRMO has given the numbers (062)926-92-73 or (062)926-92-74 for those who will be needing assistance.

Typhoon Ruby now has very strong winds of up to 215 kilometers per hour and gustiness of up to 250 kph, last spotted 450 kilometers east of Guiuan, moving 13 kph, according to PAGASA.
