PRE-SCHOOLERS from different municipalities in Zamboanga del Sur meet last Oct. 26 to compete in contests like Draw and Tell, Speech Choir, Singing Contest, Folkdance and Sayaw Awit.
The said gathering is part of the annual celebration of the Annual Children’s Congress headed by Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWD).
Held at the Megayon Stage of the Provincial Government Complex, PSWD Officer Conchita San Diego welcomed the children and their parents, day care workers, municipal social workers and visitors.
San Diego said that in line with the celebration, they also conducted a Sportsfest for Children in-Need of Special Protection (CNSP) at the Amusement and Events Center, Provincial Capitol Compound.
The activity began with a parade participated by the children from Kaabag Women Center, Home for Children In-conflict with the Law and Kalambuan, an NGO engaged in promoting children’s rights.
“This is one way for children to show their talents and abilities through the social developments learned from their respective day care centers,” San Diego said.
During the program, board member Felicidad Funtanilla represented Gov. Aurora Cerilles and delivered the message of thanks and encouragement.
Winners in the mentioned contests composed of Masrgosatubig for Speech Choir, Tabina for Folkdance, Dumingag for Song Solo, Kumalarang for Sayaw Awit and Dumingag for Draw and Tell.
These towns will represent the province in the upcoming Regional Children’s Congress in Zamboanga City.
