GOVERNOR Aurora Cerilles is reaching out to all religious people in Pagadian, Catholics, Muslims and Protestants, to include Fr. Michael “Mick” Sinnot in their daily prayers.
Such a request was made by the governor during the Seventh-day Adventist Church Western Mindanao Association Rally opening ceremony last Oct. 27, at the Provincial Government Complex, this city.
“Kinasing-kasing ko nga naghangyo nga maghiusa kita sa pag-ampo alang sa kagawasan ni Father Mick Sinnott kinsa gidala sa mga wa mailhing tawo,” Cerilles said.
Cerilles declared that she too is worried what might
happen to the Columban priest as he reaches his fourth week in the hands of his captors, alone and lacking in provisions and his medicines.
happen to the Columban priest as he reaches his fourth week in the hands of his captors, alone and lacking in provisions and his medicines. Sinnot, a member of the Missionary Society of St. Columban and coordinator of the Hangop Kabataan Foundation, was kidnapped from his residence in Gatas District last Oct. 11 by six unidentified men and taken to a hinterland area in Lanao del Norte.
Cerilles, chair of the Crisis Management Committee supervising Sinnot’s rescue efforts, assured that a working party called Task Force Zebra is continually searching for the ailing priest as she appealed again to the kidnappers “to have compassion” for the kidnap victim.
She said she believes a lot in the power of prayer and miracles. “Moingon ko nga managlahi man ang atong pundok, apan usa lamang ang Diyos nga atong gisimba ug gialagaran ug nagtoo ko nga dunay gahum ang hiniusang pag-ampo.”
