Zamsureco-I’s achievement impressive, says Cerilles

THE almost 100 percent energization attainment by the Zamboanga del Sur-I Electric Cooperative, Inc. (Zamsureco-I) is remarkable and impressive, said Gov. Aurora Cerilles.

She added that such service to the public; especially in energizing the remote villages around the province is a show of excellent performance as well as a challenge to improve more.

Zamsureco-I, in its own right, is already doing well in the past in rural electrification and countryside development and has responded to the call of total electrification and in sprucing up projects under the governor’s 7-Point Executive Agenda.

“Nalipay ako’g dako nga 99.84% na sa mga kabarangayan sa lalawigan ang na-energized nila ug pipila na mga kalungsoran sa lalawigan ang 100% usab nga nag-energized,” Cerilles remarked.

The governor was referring to the almost energized towns of Guipos, Margosatubig, Vincenzo Sagun, Pitogo, Tabina, Molave, Josefina, Ramon Magsaysay, Dumalinao and Lison Valley in Pagadian City.

With this, Cerilles praised Zamsureco-I’s management, through General Manager Jose raul Saniel and the electric cooperative’s board of directors.

Recently, Zamsureco-I is a recepient of the Emmanuel N. Pelaez (ENP) Award for Best Electric Cooperative of theYear.

Also lately, Zamsureco-I conducted its 16th Annual Regular Representative Assembly in its Training and Convention Center located in Switch, Ramon Magsaysay.

It was learned that of the 119 electric cooperatives nationwide, Zamsureco-I is categorized as “excellent” in corporate governance, because of its efforts in policies, strategies and initiatives in bringing down its system’s loss from 13.25% in 2007 to 12.54% the next year.

Another achievement by Zamsureco that Cerilles mentioned is the prompt rehabilitation of the electricity lines and the accurate meter reading and billing of the electric consumption though the application of Automated Meter Reading and Billing System.
