TOP performing nutrition program implementers in province were recognized and given cash incentives by the Provincial Nutrition Committee (PNC) as it culminated the nationwide celebration of the 35th Nutrition Month.
Outstanding nutrition program implementers are judged according to their performance in the 2008 monitoring and evaluation of local level program implementation.
Provincial Nutrition Action Officer and PNC secretariat Estrella Esma said LGUs are tasked to implement nutrition programs all-year round in their respective localities.
During this year’s culmination activities, July 31, held at the AEC, DILG Prov. Dir. Abcede Asjali called out the awardees, assisted by board member Eriberto Sumalinog, representing Gov. Aurora Cerilles.
With the two officials are Provincial Health Officer Corazon Ariosa and PNC members, TESDA’s Fronie Dalid and DENR’s Melcah Huelar.
From among the municipal level implementers, Margosatubig is the recognized as the Outstanding Municipal Nutrition Committee (MNC).
Margosatubig’s entry to the Nutri-cooking contest dubbed as “Helen Gin Ground Beef & Malunggay Leaves” was also adjudged first prize winner.
Barangay Health Worker Gina Taganile and Barangay Nutrition Scholar Helenita Geonzon, both of Poblacion Margosatubig, explained that the said recipe is perfect for infants below one year.
Next to Margosatubig is Molave MNC followed by Vincenzo Sagun.
For outstanding municipal nutrition action officers (MNAOs), first Placer is Corazon Bernante of Dinas; second is Glemma Briones of Margosatubig and Vincenzo Sagun’s Maria Elena Pailden.
For the Most Functional Barangay Nutrition Committee, Poblacion Dinas ranked first among 681 barangays in Zambosur, followed by Barangay Kalian of Margosatubig and third is Barangay Maculay of Vincenzo Sagun.
Outstanding BNS 2008 were Marife Basalo of Barangay Poblacion Dinas, Adelaida Miral of Poblacion Margosatubig and Rosalie Tolentino from San Pablo.
In the battle of the best Nutri-Hataw performers, the Provincial Agriculture Office is first; Provincial Governor’s Office is second; DENR is third; Provincial Tourism Office is fourth and Provincial Barangay Affairs placed fifth.
Winners of the Nutri-Poster making contest were Jeffrey Neil Monteroso of Dumalinao Pilot School as first; Shervic Grace Sumibay of Pagadian City Pilot School, second; and Arnold Hansen Soriano of Santo NiƱo Elem. School in Tukuran, third.
For the Nutri-Quiz Bee contest, winners, in order, were Joy Mae Patangan of Zambosur NHS-Main, Althea Bernie Bajuyo of Aurora NHS and Giselle Joei Iway of Molave Vocational Technical School.
