RMN-DxPR is Pagadian City’s leading radio station ever since it was established in January 10, 1980, during Radio Mindanao Network’s major expansion program.
As one of the 50 radio stations positioned all over the archipelago by Don Henry Canoy, RMN-DxPR brings the visionary’s dream to fruition with its continued and unparalleled broadcasting concept.
For the past two decades of its operation, RMN-DxPR has created a name in the region with its balanced programming in news, public affairs, public service broadcasting and entertainment.
Managed by a well-organized and contemporary breed of broadcasters, RMN-DxPR is known throughout Pagadian City and in the provinces of Zamboanga del Sur, Zamboanga Sibugay, Zamboanga del Norte, Lanao and parts of Misamis Occidental.
“RMN-DxPR’s goal is not only to entertain the public but to inform and educate them as well. Because of this, we have become part of the lives of our listening audience—from morning until dusk,” station manager Al Gesta said.
From their erstwhile spot in Consolacion Street in Balangasan District, the radio station transferred to its spacious new home along Mercedes Street, San Jose to better serve the public.
With its relocation came also its shift in technical facilities, from using the outmoded tape decks, reels, cassette tapes to state-of-the-art broadcast softwares and remote amenities.
To bolster its new image as the primary broadcast network in the region, RMN-DxPR revised its programming and designed new daily modules that present an evenhanded and objective presentation of news and significant issues of the day like “Tinuod nga Balita,” “Straight to the point” and “Kuskos Batikos.”
Another popular program airing in the afternoon is “Bantay Opisina,” one that tackles issues concerning tardiness in office by government employees, including issues in graft and corruption.
These programs receive huge support from its listeners because of its hotline for citizens to air their opinions, complaints and or report anomalies through SMS and MMS.
During weekends, RMN-DXPR initiates a singing program called “Bulilit Show” and “Kaplag sa Kabantog” for kids where their talents in singing get discovered.
In bringing its service closer to the pubic, RMN-DXPR likewise assist the needy in the far-flung villages through its “Serbisyo sa Barangays” by offering free of charge medical and dental missions that also performs circumcision, haircut and legal service.
