IN celebrating its 75 years of charitable endeavors, the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) continues to feed thousands of hungry children, give medicines to the poor patients and relief assistance to calamities.

PCSO’s humanitarian goal is also to raise funds through sweepstakes and online lottery draws and allocate proceeds to these charities.

As indispensable charity arm of the government, frequently summoned to provide money for essential health and welfare activities and projects nationwide, PCSO will celebrate its diamond jubilee on September 9.

During the media interaction at Pagadian Bay Plaza Hotel, William Medici, Visayas-Mindanao online lottery head said that PCSO will launch the “Kaibigan ng PCSO Volunteer program” focusing on health care and promote Filipino values in volunteerism rending vital work that meets the immediate health needs of the Filipino poor.

Kaibigan ng PCSO Volunteer program, as the name suggests, will sustain a network and linkage that will serve as sources of medical and health volunteers as well as additional funds for its charities.

June 12, as Pagadian City commemorated the 111th year of Independence, PCSO followed it with the Charity Caravan 2009 to serve Pagadianons while it spreads the charity virus all over the Philippines.
