The police and the media are without any leads and continually face a blank wall with regards to getting an update on the disappearance of Rico Nadala Pamaran.
According to some media members, details about Rico’s case cannot be reported entirely becaue of the refusal of Rico’s family and relatives to talk with them.
At the moment, what the media could only do is skim through the police blotter and repeatedly convey that Rico was missing since Jan. 9, as reported by his wife Vivian.
Rico, whose address was listed as Purok Rosas, San Pedro, is the son of the late Nita Pamaran and former Congressman Isidoro Real Jr.
He was said to have asked permission that Friday to visit his beach resort in Tukuran. He did not come home ever since.
A day after, police found Rico’s green Suzuki Vitara abandoned beside a road in Kapatagan, Lanao del Norte.
Residents near the area where the vehicle was found said they saw three persons arguing inside the vehicle and later boarded another car and left.
Mayor Samuel Co last week has alerted his fellow mayors in the Lanao province to help find Rico by establishing close coordination with their respective police and relay as soon as possible whatever developments.
For his part, PNP Provincial Director Ramon Ochotorena disclosed that Rico’s family did approach him and asked for assistance in locating their missing kin.
He added that he then requested the NBI provincial office and the 1st Infantry “Tabak” Division to synchronize their acts with theirs in finding Rico.
When asked, Co only said: “Until now we are yet to receive any development of the efforts of the authorities. I hope that he is still safe.”
For his part, Ochotorena has refused to comment and provide media with more details on the missing Rico pending their investigation.
However, sources from Labangan have said that Rico may have owed somebody hard cash there and his disappearance may have had something to do with it.
