City airsoft gamers group to host 1st shooting contest

The Pagadian City Air Soft Gamers Inc. (PAGI) will host the 1st Mayor Samuel S. Co Air Soft Competition in the city, Jan. 10-11, a semi-final elimination round.

This will be coincided with the upcoming celebration of the city’s “Pasalamat Festival 2009.”

A registration fee of P850 will be collected from participating team members while proceeds of the said competition will given to the Lingap Center of the CSWD and the city’s streetchildren.

“This is the first time that PAGI and the city government will hold this kind of event,” PAGI executive director Jun Quimbao told MINDANAO MONITOR.

Quiambao added that the winning group, composed of five athletes, would participate in the second and third elimination leg before reaching the National Finals to be held in Cebu City.

PAGI have more or less 70 airsoft gun enthusiast-members. As a club, they toured Mindanao to promote the airsoft sports, train and conduct seminars on the proper handling of airsoft guns.

One time, they donated school materials like notebooks, ballpens to indigent students in the city’s public schools.
