MIDSALIP, ZAMBOSUR--A total of P4.8 million worth of infrastructure, livelihood and agriculture projects will be started within this year in the province.
President Gloria Arroyo, in her visit here, Jan. 5 accompanied by DA Sec. Arthur Yap, turned-over the checks for the said projects to the beneficiaries.
Arroyo was welcomed by provincial and town offials led by Gov. Aurora Cerilles, Representatives Victor Yu and Antonio Cerilles, Mayors Teodoro Acosta of Sominot, Pacifico Bulahan of Ramon Magsaysay and Leonida Ancap of this town.
DPWH Usec. Romeo Momo, MGen Nelson Allaga of Wesmincom, PNP RD Angelo Hipolito Sunglao and MWSS Dir. Ferdie Mahusay were also there and greeted Arroyo.
The President then motored towards the portion of the 13-kilometers unpaved Ramon Magsaysay-Sominot-Midsalip Provincial Road to inspect it for possible funding.
Arroyo’s itinerary to the San Jose Parish Church was cancelled due to intermittent rains that day.
During her arrival at the J.H. Cerilles State College Grandstand, the President was welcomed by some 5,000 wellwishers, which included town officials.
Both the President and Yap distributed the awarding of the P4.8 million project, which is for the Mindanao Rural Development Program Adaptible Program Loan II.
MRDP-APL-II falls under the Community Fund for Agricultural Development (CFAD) for the livelihood subprojects of 11 peoples organization of Midsalip.
Out of the total amount, P2.5-million was allocated for livelihood while four people’s organizations were given a check each worth P250,000.
The checks were received by the chairmen of the concerned Pos: Mayor Leonida Angcap, Jose Dalangon of Farmer’s Association, Melanie Palibon of Women’s Association, Roger Angcap of Barangay Cumarom Subanen Association and Isabelo Bagundol Jr. of Barangay Cumarom Farmer’s Association.
Certificates of project turnover were than given for the the newly completed farm-to-market toads in Purok 7 Sitio Lumangkon, Brgy. Matalang-Midsalip, funded from the DA-Zampen Integrated Agricultural Development Program (ZIADP) in the amount of P500,000.
Also, a P400,000 funding by the DA and another P100,000 from the LGU were given including a check for P1.5-million for the rehabilitation of 2.2-kilometers farm-to-market road in Matalang to Pisompongan, Midsalip.
Funded under the DA-ZIADP with a project cost of P1.8, the DA counterparts with P1.5-M while the local government shares P300,000 for the said project.
Before leaving, Arroyo ordered to Yap to evaluate the 4-kilometer Sominot-RM and the Sominot-Midsalip provincial roads for possible funding under the DA-FMR projects.
