PAGADIAN CITY—Finally, tricycle operators and drivers gave in to public demands and rolled back their fares by P1 following the steady decline of gasoline pump prices in the city since November.
The rollback took effect last Dec. 8 and the normal fare now is P8 per passenger.
However, councilors reacted negatively on the said move and suggested that it be P1.50 instead of P1.
Transportation committee chair Councilor Arnold Gavenia reasoned to his colleagues that since there was no complain from commuters on the P1 rollback as being difficult to deal with so maybe the move is practical enough.
Roseller Duterte, FETDOA president, told this paper that the P1 cut in the present fares “is a win-win solution” reached by their group as a compromise to the riding public.
Pray that fuel prices will not rose up again to almost double than the current P37.61per liter so that drivers will not charge you with P9, the approved fare matrix.
