PAGADIAN CITY--Joint police and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) forces pounced on a notorious drug lair in downtown Pagadian and take into custody 20 suspected drug addicts.

The joint forces were on the lookout for Dondi Navaro and Jaypoy Bana; both suspected drug lords maintaining a hide booth inside the Bana Compound along Rizal Avenue.

However, the two targets were able to escape and evade arrest as they were able to see through a spy camera installed at their gate the approaching government agents.

Aside from the suspected drug users being arrested, city police were able to confiscate assorted drug paraphernalia, SP01 Faisdar Jaafar, PDEA-9 ARD for operation, said.

OIC City Police Chief Parsons Asadil told this paper that the raid was legitimate as they have a search warrant issued by Judge Ernesto Laurel of RTC Branch 30 in Aurora, Zambosur.

Police recovered from the premises 23 small transparent plastic sachets containing shabu, several drug paraphernalia, 6-rounds of ammunitions, P706 worth of coins, a spy camera gadget, two TV sets, a VCD player, three cellular phones, flashlight and four motorcycles.

Sources from the police office said that this same house inside the Bana Compound have been raided several times in the past because of the same illicit actvities.

Mayor Samuel Co commended Jaafar and Asadil even as he claimed the search came after days of surveillance operation and that authorities were able to foil the vicious cycle of drug addiction in the city with the arrest of the suspects.
