PAGADIAN CITY—Governor Aurora Cerilles graced and led the inauguration rites of the newly erected Land Transportation Office (LTO) building, Tuesday, Dec. 16.
With Cerilles are LTO Dir. Edgar Cabase, RD Aminola Abaton and other regional and district officials.
The LTO regional office is the 23rd office to transfer from Zamboanga City this year, pursuant to an executive order mandating all regional offices to transfer from Zamboanga to Pagadian City.
Cerilles and Cabase unveiled LTO’s logo and building and cited Abaton’s ingenuity in constructing the edifice despite budget limitations.
“Gikan ni sa sariling sikap,” Cerilles mused, as she strolled around the stainless and dainty-tiled rooms.
“I find these conveniences only here at LTO Pagadian,” she added.
The governor praised Abaton for his resolve to follow Executive Order No. 429 and in recognizing Pagadian City as the regional administrative center in Region 9.
Cerilles announced later that the LTO Regional Office would be getting its share in the P200-million bridging fund, of which a partial will be given before this month ends.
Still awaiting the P20-million bridging fund are the so-called 21 regional offices, dubbed as “Club 21,” which have earlier transferred here since 2006.
Cabase retorted that LTO’s new office would motivate their employees to work hard and at the same time bring customer satisfaction.
“All corners of our offices are translucent, obviously because we are not hiding anything here,” he said.
“This building resembles the traits of your regional director, take good care of this edifice because this is the symbol of dedication, dedication, integrity and resourcefulness,” he added.
For Abaton, he thanked Cerilles and Mayor Samuel Co for their efforts in realizing their office transfer, assuring them that by January, next year, LTO-Regional Office operation will be in full swing.
A Christmas party followed in the evening.
The two-storey building will house the LTO Pagadian District Office on the ground floor while it’s regional office, headed by RD Aminola Abaton will be situated atop. WITH JONG CADION
