It’s final, the 18th Provincial Boy Scout Jamboree will be held again in Camp Rebi, San Pablo, Brgy. Teniapan on Sept. 26-30.

This information was relayed to the media during the Annual Council Scout Coordinators and Trainers Meeting, July 18, at the Pagadian City Teachers Convention Center.

Dumalinao Mayor Ace William Cerilles is the new BSP Council chair. Out on official business, he was represented by board member Rogelio Saniel during the meeting.

BSP regional director Petronilo Pardillo, Zambosur schools division superintendent Visminda Serrato, City Administrator Rufino Amor and some 200 scout masters and trainers from this province and in Zamboanga Sibugay were also present during the meeting.

For this year, the province expects some 2,000 junior and senior scouts from all over Zamboanga Peninsula.

Camp Rebi formerly was the site of the First Provincial Boy Scout Jamboree in 2001 and the Regional Boy Scout Jamboree in 2003.

The camp site is complete with amenities like building structures and swimming pools.

San Pablo Mayor Belman Mantos said during the meeting that he is pleased with the development making Camp Rebi again as the jamboree site.

The mayor described the site as tedious for campers because of the road but guaranteed that the environment is nice and safe.

“Maot among dalan pero nindot among lugar,” he said.

Mantos expects with the coming jamboree, the Provincial Engineering Office would finally repair the road leading towards the campsite.

In the past, Rep. Antonio Cerilles has planned to construct the Regional Drug Rehabilitation Center in the said barangay so that the national government will also fund the road concreting towards the proposed facility.

Camp Rebi can be reached within three hours from Pagadian City.
