TUKURAN, ZAMBOSUR—Defeated mayoralty candidate Hadji Nasser Bandong is not giving up his fervor to serve the public as he helped 720 affected families from coastal barangays get grocery assistance of four kilos of NFA rice.

The distribution of NFA rice was made, July 5, at barangays Banduma, Lower Bayao, San Carlos, Pasil and Santo Niño and facilitated by Vice Mayor Ceassar Rota and barangay officials along with Bandong.

Most of the families affected rely on fishing as their only means of livelihood and many of them came from Brgy. Panduma.

The DSWD has reported that the houses and fishing boats of the affected fisher folk were damaged by big waves brought by typhoon “Frank.”

Bandong, who heads a group called Brotherhood of Muslims and Christians, further said even those who are not members of the organization can still receive assistance from him.
