The problem encountered by the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Regional Office has been solved, thanks to the local chapter of the National Union of Journalists of the Philippines (NUJP).

As of Thursday, last week, office operations have smoothened and their electric power transformer was installed in a jiffy, Monday, regional director Loreto Bhagwani, informed this paper.

He likewise disclosed the ongoing repairs of their roofing and parking bay, just like what he hoped would be done after he divulged the problem to the media during last Saturday’s Breakfast Forum.

Truth be said, it was Mayor Samuel Co who made the immediate repairs and solved Bhagwani’s problems.

Co, for his part, thanked the DILG officer for his patience for the delay, since an unavoidable circumstance beyond control has come in the way.

Engineer Nelly Sisona, Pagadian Regional Center Management Coordinating Office (PRC-MCO) head, said the city government “already spent a lot of million pesos from their local funds for the implementation of the immediate transfer of all regional offices from Zamboanga to Pagadian.”

Lately it was learned that people climbed the building to see the motorcycle racing during recently concluded 39th Araw ng Pagadian, which contributed to the damage of the roofing.

The city government has allocated a portion from the Regional Center area in Balintawak. In the coming months, the DILG national office will release P3-million for the construction of their building on site.
