Misamis Occidental Technological Institute

The Misamis Occidental Technological Institute (MOTI) has been TESDA’s staunch partner in Technical-Vocational Education and Training (TVET) promotion and enhancement for the last 12 years.

Its motto is “Educating the people for the greater glory of God” and its mission is “Instilling Christian values to all who enter its gates”.

Albeit a “David” among “Goliaths” in the TVET industry, MOTI has taken giant leaps for its exemplary TVET practices in the area of scholarship, community involvement, promotional activities, environmental concern, Christian-oriented learning and quality work procedures.

MOTI has made TVET accessible to over 730 marginalized students including those with physical disabilities through the school’s scholarship programs amounting to P561,463.68.

It has also donated P712,792.40 benefiting 918 trainees through the use of its training facilities and equipment.

Its faculty and staff have generously rendered voluntary technical and professional services as CAC assessors, judges and coaches in skills competitions, resource speakers and training facilitators. The school represents the TVET sector in the PTESDC.

Apart from instilling Christian values in the academe through weekly bible studies, MOTI has also strongly emphasized environmental concern through its active support to the Oroquieta LGU’s regular bid as the country’s cleanest and greenest city.

MOTI participates in coastal clean ups, Earth Day celebrations, and observes and promotes solid waste segregation.

Strong support to TVET promotional activities were done during TVET Month celebrations, career guidance campaigns, school trade skills competition,
participation in job fairs, product exhibits, TVET fora, symposia and support to TESDA milestones and other activities.

It also implemented innovations in workplace procedures like its Emergency Response Teams/Centers which contributed to quality work standards and zero accidents.

All these exemplary practices have made MOTI as TESDA’s acknowledged kabalikat for TVET sector development in Region 10.
