Jaraula seeks full police support in fight against crimes

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY: Mayor Constantino Jaraula has called for the Philippine National Police’s support on an integrated approach against criminality.

Jaraula expressed this call as he graced the culmination program of the Police Community Relations Month in Camp Alagar.

Speaking before the officials and members of the PNP Region 10 Command, Jaraula emphasized the need for a holistic approach from all concerned agencies including the community in the fight against criminality.

The mayor said this is especially important in line with the effort of the city government to ensure the protection and safety of its residents and visitors against lawless elements as the city becomes a bustling metropolis in this part of the country.

He pointed out that recognizing the need to ensure stability of peace and order in the city, he extended his full support to the Cagayan de Oro City Police Office (COCPO) in all its campaign against criminality.

Along this, the chief executive thanked PNP-10 Regional Director Police C/Supt. Teodorico Capuyan for the support extended to the city through the deployment of 120 police personnel to augment the local police force.

Jaraula said that the additional police officers can help a lot in the city government’s effort to deter the commission of crimes through an increased police visibility and ease traffic congestion in the city’s major thoroughfares.

He also reiterated that the city government will continue to pursue its fight against drugs and illegal gambling in the city, which the city mayor considered as the root cause of social destruction.

Jaraula’s initiatves are geared towards the promotion of the city as a more beautiful, more comfortable and more gracefully livable place for the Cagayanons and guests.
