PCWD has no water on holidays?

NO water! The Pagadian Water District or PCWD doesn’t have water on holidays? Its services are poor. Christmas breaks and onward to the New Year and when the population stays home to attend to personal affairs are dried up to the throats. No explanation coming from their end as to why water is scarce, these days, except to “say we will try to look into it,” the man on the other end of the phone said. They admitted thru queries made that water complaints now-a-days have been lodged into their office every now and then, but that their men on field cannot determine where could be its major leaks causing such a disaster. As we went to press this week, only few drops of water landed in the bucket.

The matter the management must look into how the District is spending big budget on waterworks program while the population suffer the brunt and the inadequacies of the much needed commodity, simple because the men on the saddle may be sleeping on the job. The strict implementation of its office policy with respect to payments of bills every end of the term, deserves an equal treatment, along with the responsibility, especially in the delivery of up to date essential services, that is to make water available at every concessionaire’s faucets. The equation is just as simple as that. But why can’t they simply do such a simple task?

Inconveniences are even growing into alarming proportions. City street holes are even the maddening issues finding the District the culprit. Uncovered excavations abounds elsewhere in the city causing damages to motorists trying to hit road shoulders poked with deep holes. Why can’t they cover all these deep excavations after laying down their water pipes? It is as simple as that. Kung ano ang hinukay mo, ay ibalik mo pagkatapus, para walang gulo sa buhay. O, di ba? Drivers could hardly determine if its an excavation or not, because holes are already covered with tall grasses, seemingly abandoned by irresponsible contractors, employing poor engineering techniques.

The simple lesson is simply that never leave a dug out so that public trouble can be avoided. If one service provider could only perform its duties and functions, then everybody can enjoy a wholesome community. This is a call for everyone concerned in this society to wake up.
