Mahayag police ground breaks new station

THE Mahayag Municipal Police Station is set to construct and transfer to its new headquarters to be erected at the back of the municipal hall at a cost of of P4.9-million, P/Insp. Homer Dumalag said.

October 2, the groundbreaking ceremony was held, led by Mayor Paulino Fanilag and attended by 1st District Rep. Victor Yu and a representative of PNP Reg. Dir. Angelo Sunglao

PNP Prov. Dir. Ramon Ochotorena was also present during the blessing and laying of capsule led by Fr. Renato Herrera where the police director likewise introduced the guest speaker.

Dumalag, explaining the cost of the building, said its construction is through the counterparting scheme between the PNP National Office and the local government unit, which donated the land area.

For years, the Mahayag PNP has been asking for a new building and with the construction of the new headquarters will be used to house policemen and help in the enforcement against all forms of criminalities in the municipality, Ochotorena said.

Dumalag thank the municipal government and the PNP national office for their commitment to the local police as he said that his command will strive harder and better for the good of the town folk.

The police chief then appealed to Mahayaganons and local leaders to support the PNP in the fight against all forms of crimes and lawlessness in the area.
