PAGADIAN CITY—The award for best performing province and city, respectively, during the conduct of DILG’s 2008 Year-end Evaluation and Interfacing program went to Zamboanga del Norte and Dapitan City.

The 2008 Year-end Evaluation is DILG’s annual activity. Last week’s program was supposed to be attended by DILG Usec. Austere Panadero and assistant secretary for plans and programs and regional operations Eubert Guiterrez but the two were not able to come because of another important commitment at Manila.

However, former Region-9 ARD and now director Paisal Abutazil, OPDS, arrived in lieu of Panadero and Guiterrez.

DILG RD Loreto Bhagwani handed the award to the DILG operations officers of the mentioned LGUs last Dec. 19 at Bay Plaza Hotel.

Dapitan and Zamboanga del Norte were awarded for having obtained the highest percentage in terms of performance and for having contributed in all aspect in the implementation of DILG’s programs, projects and activities both levels.

Abutazil, on the other hand, was responsible for the release of a service van for use by DILG regional employees in going and fro Pagadian to Zamboanga cities.

In his message, Abutazil shared four things to ponder upon to his listeners: What we have done to our self? What have you done to your family? How is your relationship to your neighbor? And how is your relationship with our creator?

Also, certificates of recognition were given to four DILG employees who retired while a posthumous award was given to family of. Martin Sequiño.

Sequiño died in line of duty when robbers shot him to death as they held up the passenger van he’s riding for work.
