PAGADIAN CITY--The Regional Project Monitoring Committee (RPMC)-IX has concluded its series of orientations on the regional project monitoring and evaluation system (RPMES) on all local project monitoring committees (LPMCs) in the region.
RPMC is the monitoring arm of the Regional Development Council (RDC), which facilitates and or delegates project implementation to various levels of governance, conduct problem-solving sessions, monitoring and evaluation through the creation of LPMCs.
It is composed of National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA), Department of Budget and Management (DBM), Presidential Management Staff (PMS), DILG and NGO representatives.
RPMES, on the other hand, facilitates project implementation and provides an avenue for transparency of government activities, development programs and projects. The orientation was done in three clusters covering all the provinces under Zamboanga Peninsula and the cities of Zamboanga, Dipolog, Dapitan and Isabela.
The said orientation, accordingly, was undertaken due to the changes in the political leadership as well as the composition and revitalization of the monitoring committees at the local levels.
Through the orientation, LPMCs will be strengthened and participants will be able to familiarize on the concept and procedure on project monitoring and evaluation in the context of RPMES.
