TANGUB CITY— Farmers from Brgy. Capalaran, this city, sees the Christmas Symbols Festival 2008 opening as an opportunity to sell their newly harvested peanuts.

Capalaran punong barangay George Potestas said 50 boiled peanut vendors from his barangay made themselves available and registered with the city for easy monitoring.

He added that these vendors were the ones to labored and planted peanuts in August and harvested them late November just to sell it on time with the Christmas Symbols opening.

Capalaran is the biggest peanut producer in Tangub, if not, in the whole province.

“Malipay ang akong mga sakop nga mag-uuma kay dugang kini sa ilang kinitaan ug maka-andam usab sila bisan ginagmay alang sa pasko,” Potestas said in the vernacular.

“Families and individuals who come and see the sights and our Christmas symbols enjoy it with eating boiled peanuts,” he mused.
