Sammy heads Tripartite Industrial Peace Council

PAGADIAN CITY—Mayor Samuel Co heads the newly created Tripartite Industrial Peace Council (TIPC) after a half-day strategic planning workshop was held Nov. 19 at Hotel Guillermo.

DOLE Regional Director Ponciano Ligutom inducted and installed Co and the other elected officers of TIPC after the workshop activity.

Also elected are Zamsureco-I’s Levi Cabatcha, businessman Michael Tan and DTI Provincial Director Maria Socoro Atay as vice chairpersons.

Dolores Yap Francisco of Julies Bakeshop was elected secretary-treasurer; Orlando Dahonog of Rural Transit Mindanao Inc. is auditor while Elmer Maghanoy of ZPPI is the PIO.

Victor Asuelo of Southern Mindanao College, Elvie Reyes of Best Emporium and Elalio Lumactod of TESTA were the business managers.

DOLE Provincial Director Virgie Bonbon heads the secretariat.

“The TIPC main mission is to facilitate all the labor problems and dispute with in their area of responsibilities and find its win-win solution before it reaches to our office,” Ligutom explained.

The organization of the TIPC is one of the activities of DOLE for their 75th anniversary, which started last Sept. 24 and will culminate on Dec. 8, this year.

“I will accept this challenge. A city without labor problems has chances of developing because more capitalists will come and invest in the city,” Co said in his acceptance speech.
