ILIGAN CITY—The ground breaking of the Iligan Center for Treatment and Rehabilitation (ICTR) will push through on Friday, Nov. 28.
Councilor Bayani Areola, committee on drug abuse chair, will unveil of the project profile with ICADAC action officer Suzette Redondo assisting him.
Bishop Jemar Veracruz of the St. Michael’s Cathedral will bless the site located at Sitio Fatima, Brgy. Abuno, this city.
Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB) Sec. Vicente Sotto lll will grace the groundbreaking ceremony and the burying of the time capsule.
Redondo said Mayor Lawrence Cruz-ICADAC chairman, Vice Mayor Henry Dy, city councilors and officials of Brgy. Abuno will accompany Sotto at the rites.
Redondo added that the DDB funded the establishment of ICTR with P15-million, which will cater the therapy and treatment of drug addicts from this city and the neighboring areas.
The release of funds is in three tranches, with P5-million already received by ICADAC as initial funding for the construction of the said facility.
After the blessing, a short program will follow at Brgy. Abuno gymnasium where Sotto will deliver his message and hand over a plaque of appreciation to Elpedio Kwan, the lot donor.
Sotto will then meet the press in the afternoon and join the Torch Rally Parade at the Rizal Park, this city, highlighting the culmination of this year’s celebration of the Dangerous Drug Prevention Month. PIA ILIGAN
