Mindanao Monitor opens extension office


The Mindanao Monitor opened its extension office, July 14, in a simple ceremony attended by reporters and staff of its central news desk, media colleagues and the sales force of Edmar Enterprises.

The thanksgiving and blessing ceremony was made at Stall 28, Perimeter Building along F.S. Pajares Avenue, this city.

At present, the Mindanao Monitor has nine active news desk bureaus all over Mindanao, with Ipil News Desk as the most recently opened, headed by Ricky Ledesma.

This paper’s main office is located at the mezzanine of Edmar Enterprises while a sub-office is also placed in 0132 R.T. Lim St., Balangasan District and managed by Jong Cadion, chief of reporters.

Publisher Eduardo Clavero, who also owns Edmar Enterprises, said the opening is for the paper to cater to its clientele from the second district down to Sibugay province.

For the record, the Mindanao Monitor is being circulated in the provinces of Zamboanga Peninsula, Misamis, Lanao, Cagayan de Oro, Butuan, Gensan, Cotabato and Davao cities with more than 8,000 copies printed weekly.

It also maintains a website: www.minmon.tk, and has news partnerships with the Philippine Daily Inquirer, Philippines Free Press, local radio and television, and with six other community papers.

The newspaper will celebrate its second year anniversary on Sept. 6.
