GUIPOS, ZAMBOSUR—the 53IB Infantry (Matapat) Battalion recently reported the surrender of a member of the New Peoples Army (NPA) and two other suspects wanted for murder with homicide.

A press release forwarded to MINDANAO MONITOR also said that Matapat Troopers combing the reported NPA lairs in San Miguel also discover an NPA camp at P-5 Sitio Liki, Brgy. Ocapan and another training camp at Mt. Sameon Brgy. Dumalian.
Also, the sustained campaign of 53IB against lawless elements in its area of operation led to the confiscation of caliber 45 pistols and one Ingram submachine gun, including several rounds of live ammos in Dinas.
Two unregistered motorboats, believed to be used in extortion activities, were confiscated in Kumalarang and Lapuyan.
