Mangrove planting

MAASIM, Sarangani: Navy troops teach school kids Saturday, September 15, in Tinoto, Maasim how to plant mangrove seedlings during the 22nd International Coastal Clean-Up day and nationwide launching of Green Philippine's Program for Mangrove Planting. The activity was spearheaded by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources and participated in by different civic and school organizations, the local governments of Maasim and Sarangani Province. Mangroves protect the coast from erosion, surge storms, and tsunamis.
