EUGENIO P. LIRA, JR. turns 40 today. He was born July 31, 1967 in Surigao City and finished Bachelor of Arts major in Social Science, a Masters degree in Public Administration (MPA) and with 9 units in Doctor of Education (Ed.D)He is presently the Port Police Lieutenant of Philippine Ports Authority covering the port system of Zamboanga City and the provinces of Basilan, Zamboanga Sibugay and Zamboanga Del Sur.

A tri-media practitioner, Jun is the editorial adviser of the Mindanao Enquirer and Agusan-Surigao Enquirer newspapers. Formerly a radio commentator of RMN-DXRS Surigao City, CMN-DXDD Ozamiz City and DXCO-AM Ozamiz City and a columnist of the Panguil Bay Monitor, based in Ozamiz City.

He is the Deputy Governor for Northern Mindanao (Luyo-luyong Gobernador sa Amihanang Mindanao), Lubas sa Dagang Bisaya, Inc. (LUDABI), a nationwide organization of Visayan poets and writers, in 1989Also, the National Vice-President for Mindanao of the Public Assistance and Reaction Against Crime, Inc. (PARAC, INC.), a nationwide anti-crime organization founded by the late Sen. Robert Z. Barbers.

Jun pledges memberships in the Kapisanan ng mga Brodkaster ng Pilipinas (KBP), Surigao Press, Radio and TV Association (SPRC), Member, Mindanao Press, Radio and TV Association (MINPRA) and the Misamis Occidental Media Practitioners Society (MOMPS).He is an online news contributor of Misamis Probe Online, based in Zamboanga City.
