MARAWI CITY: LANAO Del Sur Governor-elect Mamintal "Bombit" Alonto Adiong has ordered the inventory of all assets and properties of the provincial government, a move he describe as “a springboard of his administration's thrust to restore good governance.”
“We must have an immediate inventory [of all assets and properties] as an initial step to address the clamor of our constituents for good governance,” he told the media.
The 42-year old governor earlier pronounced his policy of reconciliation with the local sectors including his political rivals in the last polls.
Adiong added would pursue the programs of his father, the late governor Mamintal Adiong, Sr under whose regime the modern provincial Capitol complex was finished.
The late governor served for three terms as congressman and governor. Mamintal Sr. initiated the conduct of jobs and trade fairs and brought Lanao del Sur up the ladder of development.
For the inventory, Bombit created a seven-man team tasked to account and retrieve the heavy equipments. The operation will be supported by military and police troop.
"The retrieval should be accomplished "as soon as possible" because we need it [the equipments] immediately,” he said.
An initial inventory report submitted to the governor showed at least 10 dump trucks, four each for pay loaders and graders, two road rollers, a backhoe, loader and three buses. All these are assigned in the towns of Butig, Marogong, Pagayawan, Kapatagan, Kapai, Piagapo and Ramain.
